Introduction to watercolour painting for children and young people. Wet exuberant gorgeous rich and vivid colour – these lessons are lively, active and terrific fun. students will learn composition, value sketching, paper stretching, choosing colour palettes, flowing colour wet in wet, drybrush, spatter, resist, sponging and much more.

Art lessons for adults:
Watercolour painting techniques

Instruction for complete beginners or experienced artists.
You move along at your own pace in private and semi-private lessons.  Techniques are broken down into very clear and simple steps with lots of individual attention and plenty of time to master each.  We will experiment with the physics of water and paint on fine watercolour paper, explore colour theory and composition.  You will learn such watercolour techniques as wet-in-wet, drybrush, resist, spatter, fan-brushing, sponge and much more.  Opportunities for outdoor classes weather permitting.

The Details 

Levels and class size
You don’t need any skills or experience to begin.
There are lessons for complete beginners, and others for intermediate and advanced.

All lessons are private or semi-private – 1 to 4 students – so you get lots of individual attention and interaction with the teacher, and we move at your own pace.

Session and lesson duration
Sessions usually run for three months, and then may be renewed.
Or many parents prefer to enrol for a school semester, or the school year.

Lessons are one hour a week for younger children.
For adults and youth lessons are usually two hours a week, but for online lessons, they may be one hour or 90 minutes to reduce screen time.

Fees
Adults:  Three month (13 week) package of two-hour lessons  $520  (at $40 per 2 hour lesson)
Youth under 16:  Three month (13 week) package of two-hour lessons  $468  (at $36 per 2 hour lesson)
Younger children:  Three month (13 week) package of one-hour lessons   $234  (at $18 per hour lesson)
